Turtles in a frenzy

By admin | April 1, 2009

turtle 026Well last night I had steak for dinner and decided to give the turtles a treat. Put a small piece in the tank while they were all relaxing up top and World War III started. Gizzard got it first and raced from end to end trying to keep from sharing it.

Didn’t work though. All three of the big turtles had control at different times until it was totally devoured.

Now the turtles are well fed and had eaten their regular food an hour or so before. That is why they were up top basking. It wasn’t hunger that was driving the frenzy. They might jockey for position during feeding but nothing like they do for any kind of real meat.

It was the want and desire for something different not a need that made them go nuts. Something to consider when looking for items to sell.

Yes you need to do the research and check keywords, yada, yada, yada. I did an article the other day on just that topic on another blog about picking PLR products.

The key though is it was the want that drove the frenzy. After all they weren’t hungry they had just eaten. (Kinda like me with cheese cake – there is always room for good cheese cake).

Same with products which is why the latest PLR bundle from Doug Champigny has been flying out the door. (He always limits it to just 100 copies and adds articles and audios so you get great value).

This topic is one that is hot – Aromatherapy – and as smell is what drives people it is good solid niche so the frenzy began.

Always find ways to put the wants in, whether you are doing copy, writing an email or selecting a product. The want will allow you to create the frenzy even with well fed customers.

Great tip Mike. Whatever the product or the niche, as a marketer we need to find that the market wants and what their desire is. Once we know that, we just have to deliver it to them, it’s almost guaranteed success.

While you can sell the sizzle its the steak that matters. And in niches its finding the ones that people want.

Successfully predicting online frenzies like that are exactly what super-affiliates become adept at, and what separates them from regular affiliates, Mike – though as a super-affiliate yourself you already know that…

Whether one is in Internet marketing, affiliate marketing or niche marketing, hot new products in hot niches will ALWAYS be your top way of making money online!

Once we find something that we like it doesn’t help when there is a limit to how much you can have. That is why the 100 copies don’t last very long. Thanks for those turtles showing the way.

    Mike,

The turtles proves it. It is desire what makes the sale. If a sales letter creates this desire you have a sale. You can explain thousands times why someone needs “it”, but if it doesn’t create a desire there is no sale.

Those little turtles getting smarter each post. Wonder when they start blogging…

There’s nothing like scarcity to drive a sale and it’s even more of an imperative when it’s genuine scarcity like the limiting of a product to a certain number. With quality like Doug’s, well who could argue?

    Very well put Mike,

Want/desire is almost always more powerful than need. Learning how to tap into that want/desire is the key to successful marketing.

Is there a good book or course that you would recommend for someone who is still in the process of learing all of this?

    MMmmmMMM..cheescake.

Where is it? I’m on my way.

Right on target again Mike…it’s the desire to have the hottest thing going and exploit it as long as possible that drives the IM business. When you have done your research as you have pointed out and grab a package like Doug is offering, you have all the ammunition you need.

    Great info.

    Thanks,

    Ron

I hope to get my niche site set up soon.
