Replenishing – an important concept
By admin | November 5, 2008
Every two weeks without fail I end up adding water to the tank. Today is the day so it reminded me to discuss this. See it is constantly evaporating due to the filtering and temperatures necessary to keep the three babies happy and healthy.
If I don’t add water regularly soon the tank would not be a good environment for the kids to live in. So now I add water regularly and it is another task for the checklist of their care just like regular feeding.
How does this apply to your business? What can the turtles teach us with this lesson?
Your list is very much the lifeblood of your business and it has the same tendency to evaporate just like the water does in the tank. You need to constantly be adding more subscribers to your list or you will soon find what should be a valuable asset has eroded away to nothing.
You need to be consistently working on adding to your list and this should be a primary function of your business. If you need help understanding the process check out The Beginners List Formula. It is an easy to use guide to get you started.
Another great way to consistently add new subscribers is to use giveaways. There are two good ones you can join right now The Thanksgiving Giveaway and Santa’s Big Giveaway.
Just add a product in and generate extra subscribers easily. Make sure to take advantage of these and keep replenishing your subscribers as I have to keep replenishing the turtle’s water.
Your business will grow and I have happy and healthy turtles.

Never was a truer word spoken, Mike!
There is a direct correlation between list size and earnings – no matter how well/poorly an offer or a list converts, the greater number of people seeing your offers, the higher your profits…
Thanks for the reminder,
Doug.

Mike,
Great info….with list building, just like the tank, we have to keep the ‘water level’ up and the ‘quality’ of the water at it’s peak.
If we neglect either, the chances of increasing our income diminishes dramatically…if you don’t keep the quality of the water or it’s level, the turtles will become unhealthy.
Here’s to all of our list building successes.

@Fred Lotgering -
Yes not sure I would have turtles had I known what I was signing up for but actually glad to have them now.

Hi Mike,
I agree with you completely. I once let a list of over 5000 get stale and had to throw the whole thing out and start over. There were other circumstances involved like how I got the leads for the list, but nevertheless I didn’t spend enough time replenishing the list like I should have.
Who knew you could learn so much from raising baby turtles?

Charles Burleigh

Mike,
Very true, very true. I, like Charles have let my lists get somewhat stale.
While I am not going to be getting rid of them, I am getting back into the swing of building that list even larger than it was before and have no intention of letting up at this point.
Thanks to you and Doug, I have my motivation back and plan on only going up from here!
Thanks,
