Helping each other

By admin | April 26, 2009

turtle 027Quite often the turtles will stack up as they are laying on the dock. It seems to help them get closer to the top of the tank.

The turtles despite being quite competitive at times often work cooperatively to accomplish things that none of them can do individually. Unfortunately for me this often leads to them knocking over the things I have in the tank. They accomplish what they want despite how I feel.

Cooperative effort and interaction are the key to the various Web 2.0 properties. Blogs allow comments from readers, Twitter allows you to interact regularly with people. All of these allow you to build a relationship with people and relationships are the key to creating the trust necessary to move people from suspects to buyers.

Combining them together can be even more powerful, You can grab my free report on how to do just that at Twitter and WordPress.

After all your potential customers are not stuck in a small space like the turtles so it becomes harder to build the necessary relationship and trust. The turtles because of proximity don’t have any choice.

So very true, Mike! In the early days of Internet marketing, the only true interaction was through the live events, making it hard to find new JV partners along the way. Web 2.0 technologies have eased that a lot, with tools like blogs and Twitter, StumbleUpon, LinkedIn, Technorati and MyBlogLog letting people meet & co-operate on a scale never seen before. Thanks for raising such an important issue for people!

Great advice.. so true, that it’s all about building relationships with your market and other marketers as well, so that you can end up working together.

Twitter and Facebook have made it so easy to connect and build that important relationship.

Twitter and facebook are excellent, but for me the consistent contact with a group of like minded people is where it’s at. Whether a master mind group or an informal collaboration building and supporting a group pays dividends.

I am understanding the importance of cooperation and like the turtles I know it can be effective. Twitter and Facebook are very effective but the interaction with close associates and the new ones you meet are very helpful.

I think teamwork and co-operation are standards of success that go right back to when Adam played full back for Jerusalem. With the tools we now have available on the web, it is so much easier to find those with similar interests although it can be very difficult at times to break through the noise..

Agree that cooperative effort and interaction are important. Twitter and all the others are great, but I agree Earl, “consistent contact with a group of like minded people is where it’s at.” You learn a lot from the group, especially if they are willing to help everyone in the group – from the most experience to the least experience like me.
    Thanks for this good reminder.

Some great tips Mike, and what a great report.

Just picked it up and read through it. It’s a quick read (which I like) and I really liked the part about searching for your name and then adding the feed to your RSS reader.

Didn’t even know you could do that.

Will definitely be implementing some of the suggestions in this report.

    Thanks!
