Growth Has A Downside – Will You Be Ready?
By admin | July 12, 2010

The Turtle Dad is back because the turtles are growing too big for their equipment and I wanted to post instead of Gizmo. He did try to bite me when he saw me open up this blog as he has become a bit protective of it of late.
Fortunately I still have control and locked the top of the tank so he is stuck and can respond later this week if he desires when I take a break.
If you look at the picture to the right the ramp they have in the tank is now on the bottom of the tank instead of providing them with a resting place out of the water. When they all get on it they are too heavy for it to support them anymore.
This happens with your business too. As it grows some of the tools that you use may be too light weight to support your current business.
One of the first places you may see this is with web hosting. You start out with a small plan but often if your business is successful (isn’t that what we all want?) you may find your site displaying the bandwidth exceeded sign instead of your blog, sales page or squeeze page.
Making sure that you can expand with your web host easily is an important thing to look at when you are looking at hosting.
Now there are other things to consider with hosting and support is always the top of the list but make sure that you can easily scale up your hosting when you start and this will save you lots of headaches as your business grows.
That is one of the reasons I like HostGator because the support is first rate and they make it easy to scale up as you grow.
So consider that when looking for hosting and whether you choose HostGator or another host make sure you they can handle that easily for you.
After all you do plan to expand to where you will need ore hosting don’t you?
Well off ot the store to find a better solutions for the pigs turtles to take their siestas.

I have been quite pleased with HostGator as they have provided me with support as needed. It would be a good idea to check your plan and make sure you are at the level you need to be.

You must be feeding them too many fishes Mike. Time to let them get some exercise. My wife takes my grandson’s tortoise for walks in the back yard. She actually has a kiddy pool she uses to let them walk around in without having to worry about him escaping.
By the way I too appreciate Host Gators prompt response to customer issues.
