Comparison can work for you
By admin | December 10, 2008
Today I needed to run to the pet store and get more food for the pigs turtles. Problem is the boss ( yes I know that surprises you that I have a boss
and she can make life miserable if I don’t concede that point but have learned to say yes dear and keep moving quite well) wants a new baby. So I had to get food and a new addition for the tank. No picture yet because the new one is not named and hiding behind the filter.
The huge size difference between “baby” and the three pigs turtles made me think about the power of comparison. This can be a great way to help you with your unique selling position. This can make the difference in setting your self apart.
Lets look at two free ebooks that I recommend and rebranded (by rebranding I mean that the copy someone gets has my links instead of the author’s) that are focused on the new marketer. Internet Marketing Success Formula by Soren Jordansen and The Pizza Plan by Jon Olson. Both are six figure earners and built their business with the techniques in their books.
Although they target the same market each can be made unique depending on how you present it.
Internet Marketing Success Formula by Soren Jordansen has 41 pages, a ton of examples and addresses email marketing in detail from getting traffic to writing your email series. Very complete but does not address budgeting.
The Pizza Plan by Jon Olson has 10 pages. Is a very step by step plan of the tools you need and addresses the missing piece that Soren didn’t – budgeting.
So if you are going to promote Jon’s you address the conciseness, the budget information (the piece no one tells you).
If you are going to promote Soren’s how comprehensive it is, the templates to get you set up etc.
On both you are looking for the things that make each unique and highlight those points. Comparing two products allows you to find the things that are unique and knowing what makes them different and worthwhile will allow you to target each in the best light. In this case I recommend both
and should be rebranded and used to build your list but would promote each from a different viewpoint.
Look for comparison pics as soon as the “baby” comes out of hiding and learns that he can be famous on the internet if he will allow me to photograph him
The Turtle Dad
He and him are used but we won’t know the sex until “baby” is about two years old. The female red eyed slider has much longer claws and is usually bigger at that point. A useless turtle fact for ya

I do like the analogy between the two books. I think both will be a big help and I thank you for pointing that out.

I don’t know how you do it Mike.
I amazes me how you can take three turtles (sorry, 4 turtles) and make all the correlations to internet marketing, but you do such a great job!
I am going to have to start paying more attention to my Alpacas.
BTW: I just grabbed both products mentioned above.
Thanks for the great post as always!
